Roslyn Travel Baseball Team Promoted to Suburban “A” Division
Roslyn’s 11-year-old travel baseball team has been promoted to the Suburban league’s “A” division for the 2018 season. We’re proud of this team and their fantastic regular season record of 12-2 last year, their first season in the Suburban league. This is one more exciting step on their Road to Cooperstown (2019)!
80’s Social Success
Thanks to everyone who came out and made our 80’s Social such an awesome event. The team raised $2,000 for their journey to Cooperstown! And, thanks to Art Armani for donating the photo booth. Doors open at 6 PM for ice cream sundaes and cookies as we await the arrival of Santa Claus on Rudolf the Red Roslyn Fire Company Fire Truck.
Kids of all ages can get in their present requests and have their picture taken with Santa. Parents, feel free to bring your cameras for pictures.
Bring your kids out to this completely free annual tradition.
Old Shoe Soccer Game (Thursday, November 23, 2017, 9:00)
Before you feast, come out on Thanksgiving to our “Old Shoe” Soccer Game. Coaches will play against current team members 14-years-old. Following the game, the Service to Youth award will be presented at 10:30. SPECIAL THIS YEAR: The Frans Griet Soccer Field (named after a late coach) will be dedicated at 8:45, before the game starts. Coffee, tea, hot chocolate, and doughnuts will be available in the clubhouse.
Club Receives Allstate Foundation Helping Hands Grant
Thank you to Encompass Volunteer Dave Robbins for being a positive force for change in our community. Encompass Volunteer Dave Robbins enabled us to receive an Allstate Foundation Helping Hands grant. The Allstate Foundation supports the causes that agents and employees care about most by providing grants to nonprofits where they volunteer their time to bring out the good in their communities.
Roslyn Travel Basketball for Boys in 5th Grade
Roslyn Boys & Girls Club is pleased to announce we will have a travel basketball team during the 2017-18 season for boys in grade 5! Tryouts will be held from 7-8 pm at Roslyn Elementary School on: Thu, Nov 2 & Thu, Nov 9.
NOTE: This team is separate from the Roslyn in-house league and requires an additional fee.
